Staveley Hall
« on: January 21, 2012, 04:51:37 PM »
According to the DT site Staveley Hall and its grounds are to be revamped with £880,000 from Heritage Lottery Fund.

"The work, part of the Heart of Staveley Project, will include roof repairs, conserving historic features and renovating of the ground floor which will be opened up for use by the community."

It looks amazing, but I must admit I don't know it or where it is...  :-[

I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

Is it the building that houses/did house the library, at the top of Hall Lane? Answer: No!

OK - just done some 'digging' - its just before Hall Lane when travelling out of Staveley on Duke Street - here's the website:

Type: 'S43 3TN' into Google search for exact placement.

It's behind the church, you access it from a drive way just before going down hall lane

Its a lovely old building next to the church in 'St. Aveley'.

See http://www.staveleyhall.org.uk/index.php/staveley-hall for some history on it.    :D
