RIP laptop battery :-(
« on: October 22, 2012, 05:20:13 PM »
I know it hadn't been holding charge very good as of late, but today I'm classing it as dead.
Been on charge all day whilst I've been at work. Got home, and the lappy wouldn't turn on without the power supply.

Ordered a new one off Ebay, £18 with first class postage ;-)
Fingers crossed it's not one those really cheap imports that blow up  :D :D
The seller does have very good feedback and has sold numerous batteries of this type  ;)

Twas deilvered today as expected and paid for.
Was 65% charged when first pulgged in, 1 hour later, not it's 86%

Will try the lappy tomorrow without the powere supply and see how it holds charge.
Looking good though.

Here's the E-Bay seller's ID  us-winmax

Are you really that technophobe  q?

For most laptops:
Turn your laptop upside down, there's usually 1 or 2 little sliders, usually with 'padlock icons' on them/it.
Move the slider, and slide the battery out. It usually forms part of the lappy case. Not buried inside it.

Other Laptops:
The battery might be under a small plastic door or cover on the side or underneath. Remove the cover/door.
Pop out the battery.

Google your laptop model, I'm sure you'll find specific details.

Switched on tonight, 96%. Lost 4% since turning off last night, not good really.
Lasted about an hour before the low battery warning fired at 20%
I can live with that. Never take the lappy anywhere to use more than an hour without the power supply  ;)
