I was driving towards Baslow this morning and the little waterfall was in full flood, literally. It's been pretty much dried up for years, but today it was a massive torrent - and very pretty... :)
I think we've had enough rain these last few days to last a month or two.

I'm sure we have Pete, hoping they lift the hose pipe ban. It's time they built some more resas.
-
I heard recently that Linacre res doesn't supply our water - I've been walking up there all my life and didn't know that. Don't know where it does come from.

Dunno unless it's Carsington? Isn't that channeld down into Ogston?

From the web
Carsington Water is owned and operated by Severn Trent Water and exists to store water pumped from the River Derwent at times of high rainfall, to store the water and return it to the river when the river level would otherwise be too low to allow water extraction for treatment further downstream.
Derwent and Ladybower Dams serve most of the East Midlands.

I think the way to go on this one is that the next time they want some rain, just get Peak FM to mention on their news programme that we are officially in drought........it hasn't stopped raining since they last mentioned it!!!!!! 8)

Quick get them to announce the weather is rubbish, then sit back and watch the mercury rise...
