Someone just told me that Yeomans are closing down. They've been around as long as I can remember and I've spent a bob or two in my time - if it's true, then it's a great shame.
Anyone heard anything?

Bummer, have used them a few times for outdoor gear.
-
We heard the other day that the yeomans in Peak village is closing down, don't know about any others.

The shop in town has Closing Down posters in the window.

The shop in town has Closing Down posters in the window.
The wording on the posters says in big letters "Closing Down", and then underneath in smaller print it says "Prices".
So your guess is as good as mine, they are either closing down or simply selling stuff at "closing down prices".

Well spotted, you could be right.
I did a search on google for yeomans closing down and saw several mentions of various shops that had closed down. But their online store says nothing about closing...
Maybe they are going Internet online sales only.

Yeomans has been a 'handed down family firm' for years.
Peter Yeoman sold it out to another firm several years ago, don't know who it was sold to though.
Very sad as there were a lot of Yeomans shops around in the past and they also did camping weekends, to boost sales.

Was in Alfreton other Saturday, and noticed their shop, also had 'Closing Down' in the window

Weather permitting I may be playing golf with Pete Yeomans on Saturday. If I do I will enquire if he knows anything
