Anyone know where you can take a 'proper' watch for repairs?
Always used to go and see little Geoff Reeman on Chatsworth Road but last time I was down there he'd shut the shop and retired.

Samuels send them away for repair I believe (they used to).
-
If it's a modern 'proper' watch I'd be contacting the manufacturers.
-
it's an old proper watch I mean it winds up and everything!!!!
Don't want to send it away if I can avoid it because I don't want to be landed with a huge bill only to be told we can't do owt with it!!!

On Time Clocks at Newbold (if they are still there) tele - 272766.
We used to use Bywaters a lot - but they have gone, think they are in Sheffield now.
-
Is there enough demand for that sort of thing?
-
There used to be, little Geoff had a shop full of clocks and watches that he was fixing or refurbing.
As with anything these days you buy a watch for a fiver and when the battery runs out you bin it and buy another.
This is a proper gold (and I mean gold) watch with a mechanical movement that seems to have stopped working. Probably just needs a clean but it needs doing by an expert.

You may have to look further afield for a specialist
