Title: Car Boots in Chesterfield.
Post by: k4blades on April 28, 2012, 05:21:28 PM
Do they still have a car boot on the donut car park on Sundays, and is it every Sunday. We were planning on having a car boot tomorrow, and have found that in the past, Marsh Lane is one of the better ones. But I don't fancy spending the morning stood in the middle of a muddy field. They've said more rain tomorrow too, so don't think there will be many people out in the morning.

Found this, but not sure on its accuracy.

I was going to try and find it on the council website, so I searched for donut car boot on the council homepage - the reply was "Your search contains no words or only common words". What a bag of shite that website is.

Must admit it's very hard to navigate, and the search is pants  :(

word of warning is you do the donut.
Get there early, stake your place then lock your car up and go find a cup of coffee (or walk across to the pub)
If you don't the other booters (traders!) will dive on your car and start rooting through your stuff as you try to unload.
There's so many of them its almost impossible to keep an eye on all your stuff.
Only go back and set up when they have to go and set theirs up.

When I've been through town at 4.15 am, as I do to fetch a van to do the dual carriageway work occasionally in the summer it's interesting that the car boot is setting up while there are still people out clubbing. The fast food fans catch the trade from both.

We finally got round to having our car boot today.
We went to the one at Marsh Lane, £9.00 to get in so only worth it if you have plenty to sell.
It wasn't that busy compared to previous times but we were lucky with the weather.
Made £60.00 profit so a bit extra spending money on holiday. :)
