yes my grandad used to work on trains in staveley at staveley works

My Dad worked there late 1940s  & early 50s with National service in between

TBH I don't know, I just collect old pictures.

I think Slacker knows a bit about the railways in Hasland.

Thanks Fly - they would link with the Chesterfield line then. I think the railway cottages are still there aren't they?

We have a new group in our village for ocal history.
Next meeting is on the Ashover Light Railway, I'm looking forward to that.

A few years ago I used to go to the local history society in Chesterfied Library, one of the tallks was on the ALR with a brief old cine clip loved it - very interesting to see where it ran.

I can remember the railway station at Tupton - Beeching got rid of it along with others
