ViTAL (Volunteers In Training And Leadership) is a charity that is trying to help disadvantaged kids and vulnerable adults in order to build emotional resilience and practiice life skills.
I am involved in this scheme and now want to invite you.
If you can volunteer your time, experience and knowledge, I need you.
I am not asking for a full time commitment, 1 hour a week will do.
Over the years I have seen what members of this Forum (and the old one) can offer, I am asking that you offer this experience to kids that need it. Wether it is IT skills or Business Skills , maybe Art or Gardening, whatever, I need you.
I am determined that this scheme will work, I just need help.
Please, please contact
dez.w@youngpotential.org.uk
or send me a pm.
Thanks.

How much does it pay?
-
Can I say Fuck all on this Forum?
-
Say what you want Mick - we do. :)
-
Not really a good example should any children read the forum, is it?
-
Good point. Let's ban children. ;)
-
Ban the adults. Let the children stay!
-
Do what you like as long as four-letter words aren't used.
-
Why not?
The registration agreement says no one under 16 allowed - we are all grown up(ish) - we've just come from another forum where rules and regulations were ruining the experience, that's why this forum exists.
I, for one, don't believe in censorship.
Opinions?

Agree especially given previous experience(s). If kids were allowed on their language would more than likely be a lot worse! Yp

As you wish, I'm off.

Oh!! Does this mean Big Dave has left the forum - shame bout that :( or has he gone to work.
Swearing on here - doesn't really bother me although I have said to Pete --- language Timothy in jest.
I'm not sure how you stop under 16's coming on here though if they wished???? anyone????
As Alsatian said the kids use this language all the time these days and F--- is now in the disctionary (or some has told me it is?)

Mycul I have a wealth of experience with children and young people who have been disadvantaged and vulnerable, unfortunately at this moment in time most of my time is taken up looking after my elderly mum which is why I am semi retired. Should this alter in the near future I will contact you to see if I can help in anyway if I am able.
Who pays for the CRB? I have a current one but I believe each organisation has to have their own done - unless they have changed the rules again that is.
Well done for getting stuck into this project it is much needed!!! :)

TBH Pam, this forum was set up for people to speak freely about any subject without censorship and it seems to be working rather well. I don't think introducing any censorship would improve it.
@Mycul - all joking aside, I'm up for it, just let me know what you want.
@Big Dave - don't go, you are a good member and I for one, value your input - and, quite frankly, I don't think any young person would even want to post , let alone be offended. It's important to me and the guys that set this forum up, that anyone can say what they like. We've been going 6 months and have not had to snip anyone - and the only person banned here was a certain person who came on here aggressively and started to cause trouble on purpose.
-
Pete I think it's a great forum with some lovely people using it, I hope Big Dave didn't mean he was leaving us as well.
-
As you wish, I'm off.
Don't go !!
Will post more later, i'm on my mobile. :-(

Just heard on the news about a woman being sent to prison for 5 months for "racist abuse" she committed on a train. FFS, not condoning anything she said, don't know what she said, but apparently she was drunk and handed herself in when sobbered up, but should we really be sending people down for saying things, when shoplifters, etc, get nothing more than an on-the-spot fine, if that.
Censorship in all forms is the first step in turning the UK into a place like Syria. We are all grown ups.
And as for kids, I was often threatenend with a hiding as a kid, if I swore, and do the same now with my kids. But I occassioanlly swear in front of them, they hear it in TV, and they will hear in the school yard. Its about teaching kids that some times not everything is as clear cut as black and white or good and bad, but there should always be tolerance and respect. And you can tolerate and respect people no matter how much you disagree with them.
Come back Dave.

Bet Dave will laugh his socks off at us if he didn't mean he was leaving the forum --- just 'off'

@DogBoy, don't be silly MD
I can only post short messages on the forum from my mobile, the browser screws them up q? q? q?
@Big Dave. I don't understand why you have took offence to Mycul's post with the word fuck in it q?
I've just re-read all your 280 posts you've made in the two month you've been with us.
Your 1st post included the line: "Tory ideology - bunch of ****ers!"
The ones below are in latest to oldest order of posting.
I couldn't be arsed to date them all.
#May 27, 2012, 04:07:25 PM I would have really pissed you off then. 2 days ago q?
Isn't this any less offensive q?
C) There's f*ck all on TV.
E) It's a sh*t world, they like to fit in.
at a time when the country is so f*cked up
The arrogant bitch
Wasting public money really pisses me off
cos I thought I was a lazy fat f*cker who knew s*d all
After sampling CF and CoL for a short while I've made up my mind which I prefer - 'morning chaps!
I hope your not leaving us, your a regular intelligent poster, make some very good posts, and appeared? to be enjoying being a member of the forum. I'd be sad to see you go :'(
But, I agree with Pete, we don't need another Chezzy forum without free speech.
Hence ChesterfieldOnline.
As for Mycul, he posts when he wishes. And that's fine by the team. He's a great bloke :-*
