In the middle of dinner this evening and the phone rang, answered it and on t'other end was a non-English person who was struggling to pronounce my four-letter surname (no it doesn't begin with the letter 'C'!!!).
Straight away he told me he wasn't selling anything but just wanted my opinion on how I received tv signals (eg Sky/Cable/Aerial et al), I politely stopped him and told him I was in the middle of my dinner and.................................BRRRRRR - he'd put the bloody phone down on me before I could finish - ignorant git! >:( This is happening more and more - it even makes my mild-tempered wife swear! Yp
I'm part of the Telephone Preference Service, but unfortunately there is a get-out clause : "As TPS registration only prevents marketing calls, organisations will still be able to call you for the purposes of genuine market research." I wish we were able to enforce the 'genuine' part of the text!

After reading another 4 of your previous posts, I got 3/4s of the way through this before realising there wasn't going to be a punch line. Please be more consistent. ;)

We pay for that Alsatian, but the odd one does get through, I won't answer the phone at meal times though, they can call back if it's that important - or leave a message.
