Title: Bloody international telemarketing calls.
Post by: Slacker on June 12, 2012, 06:12:25 PM
Seems to be a rapid increase in last few weeks, up to 5 a day. Usually with recorded messages.

Got a block on Witheld numbers but it doesn't stop them.

Contacted Orange who said they can't do anything and advises the only solution is to change phone number.

Does anyone know a landline company that does have facility to block them?

I only answer to numbers which are on my phone but I suppose not everyone can do that, I'm on O2 and don't really get any, hubby is on vodaphone and does sometimes get them, maybe changing your number is a good idea

get caller id, they either start 0015 or 0017. Don't answer the phone if a number like this shows up.

They show as International and I tend to pick up and cut off straight away but by that time one of us has still been disturbed from what we were doing, My point is if Witheld can be blocked why can't International?

That's a good way to do it Chris, I wouldn't be able to because of work but once fully retired I will remember that - suppose I could always pre-set the phone though for my friends and family.
