I'd seen a couple of references to this.
I always thought it was symetrical, apparently, it isn't.

Will make sure my free, The Sun, Union Jack, is correct way up on sunday.
Wonder if that's why we failed in the last World Cup, we'd all got our flags upside down :))

We learned that in the scouts when we were kids.
TBH I don't care about that stuff - details always bore me in the same way they fascinate dweebs.

So am I right in saying that its actually impossible to fly the flag 'upside down' as most people complain about but you can fly it 'the wrong way round?

Thought I'd heard at one time it was only officially the "Union Jack" when connected with the Navy, otherwise "Union Flag"
