Title: What new technology has replaced old to do the same thing?
Post by: therealjr on June 25, 2012, 11:29:17 AM: Thinking about this earlier. There are those of us of a certain a age :'( who remember taping music off the radio. It meant you had your fave tunes without paying for them. Now I have a piece of software that converts youtube videos to MP3's. Same result.

Any other examples where we are doing things we used to but just with more technology involved?

...............and trying to be quick enough on the 'record' and 'stop' buttons to make sure you didn't tape the DJ before and after the song! :D

but if you google youtube to mp3 convertor dozens of sites come up offering the service. So are these sites and indeed google themselves putting themselves in the firing line?

Google? They wont go after Google, which is actually a worse offender, because Google has big money and big lawyers... Best stick to young UK kids so as not to rock the boat at home. ???

For the record (no pun intended) I taped hundreds of albums in the 70s and 80s.
