Thinking about this earlier. There are those of us of a certain a age :'( who remember taping music off the radio. It meant you had your fave tunes without paying for them. Now I have a piece of software that converts youtube videos to MP3's. Same result.
Any other examples where we are doing things we used to but just with more technology involved?
(Mods feel free to move this out of the techie thread if you don't think it appropriate)

...............and trying to be quick enough on the 'record' and 'stop' buttons to make sure you didn't tape the DJ before and after the song! :D

Before you post anymore - how do you fancy a trip to the USA? With Richard O'Dwyer... ::)
-
it's hardly napster proportions but I take your point.
but if you google youtube to mp3 convertor dozens of sites come up offering the service. So are these sites and indeed google themselves putting themselves in the firing line?
-
Nah - now they've identified Richard O'Dwyer they are happy.
Google? They wont go after Google, which is actually a worse offender, because Google has big money and big lawyers... Best stick to young UK kids so as not to rock the boat at home. ???
For the record (no pun intended) I taped hundreds of albums in the 70s and 80s.

Even The Pirate Bay has reopened with a slightly different name following its blocking by the major ISPs

so having established we probably aren't going to be visited by government agents can we get back on topic?

People have always had brains, pity some of them think new technology will aid them in not using their own !
