Another of today's headlines from the Beeb - "No evidence of mermaids, says US government"

"There is no evidence that mermaids exist, a US government scientific agency has said."

Well, no sh*t Sherlock is my reply. Although, as one wag pointed out on Twitter, "Thanks to their denial, belief in mermaids rises 3,000%"  :))

I like the caption to the picture of the mermaid - "Sorry folks - it's just a costume" - like we really believed mermaids have blue boobies.
