Originally it looked as though this might go through, but the level of protest against it swayed the vote and it has been voted down.
A total of 478 MEPs voted against the deal, with 39 in favour, 165 abstentions.
Another anti-privacy law stopped in its tracks thanks to the folks who protested it. Yay! People power!
