Title: unemployment figures.
Post by: k4blades on July 18, 2012, 04:02:39 PM
I hear on the news that the number of unemployed and claiming benefits has fallen again this month, several months in a row, and the number in work increasing.

I just wonder why Pete never posts anything positive like this, only bad news, and then questions why others think he is biased against the Tories. Not that I'm looking for a fight to defend the Tories, just starting a debate. ;)

Bugger, I just read about this, but you beat me to it!

Not sure why you posted it in the Fun Stuff section.

The number of people out of work long term rose!
It's almost certainly Olympic related and will rise again in August.

Id hazzard a guess that any one of us on this forum could get a job tomorrow if we wanted work badly enough.  It may be stacking shelves, flipping burgers or making the tea, but it would be a job.

I couldnt agree more.  There was a bloke on BBC News yesterday talking about it.  He said more or less the same thing.  People set their sights on a certain type of job whether qualified or not and all they see if that.

A quick search on DirectGov shows loads of jobs.  Yesterday there were 200+ within 15 miles of Boza, granted not all of them were jobs anyone could do but a lot were.

Time something was done about these idle bas*ards to stop them scrounging off the tax payer.

Survey this morning by KPMG indicates that the number of people gaining permanent employment fell for the 2nd month in a row.
