For killing 77 people. Is that justice?
-
Should be 77 x 21, let out after 150 years if he behaves inside ::)
-
Should have been a life sentence at the very least.
He's a young man now, so in 21 yrs time he would be young enough to do something equally tragic.
He is also classed as "sane" by the authorities, so what he did was very deliberate.
This guy should never be set free, in fact the death penalty (if it existed) would even be not enough punishment.
IMHO >:(

It's the maximum sentence Norway. After that he can be held as long as the state deems him a danger to the public - ie, he aint going anywhere. Surprised you didn't read that.
-
21 maximum.
Good behaviour, and he could be out after a minimum of 10 :o
That's how I heard it on the radio earlier.
-
"Breivik is almost certain to end his life in prison. Although Norway has a maximum prison sentence of 21 years, Breivik could be sentenced to "preventive detention", which can be extended for as long as an inmate is considered dangerous to society."
-
Surely should never come out

He could be kept in after the 21 years, doesn't mean he will be, just like he could be let out after 10. But the sentence is 21 years, and my question was "does anyone actually consider that as justice".
(So maybe the question ought to be "is Norways justice system too soft!")
-
@K4, to answer either of your questions, yes, too soft.
Life should mean life, not 21 years for killing 77 people.
That put's Norway as soft as this country.
Now we move to the death penalty debate, personally, I think he needs a lethal injection.
But will that make him a martyr to his supposed belief's, and probably the sicko's who follow his line of thinking.
Just a question q?

Breaking news from a prison in Norway.
"The Norwegian convicted of the massacre of 77 people last year has said he is being held in "inhumane" conditions.
Anders Behring Breivik complained in a letter to the prison service that his coffee is served cold, he does not have enough butter for his bread, and he is not allowed moisturiser."
Ha ha ha - sounds good to me >;
-
You have to feel sorry for the poor man don't you.
I don't think so >:(
-
You mean they actually feed him, and give him coffee :o Disgrace !!
-
Since they appear to be quite an enlightened people, I daresay the average Norwegian prison cell is rather better-appointed than a Blackpool B&B.
