Just seen on the news that a new (US) website opens in the UK tomorrow, whereby kidney donors will be able to choose from a list who receives there kidney:
http://www.itv.com/news/2012-08-29/uk-donors-select-a-patient-after-emotional-online-appeal/ (http://www.itv.com/news/2012-08-29/uk-donors-select-a-patient-after-emotional-online-appeal/)
What's peoples take on this? I think it's a bad move, will this lead to all the 'pretty people' getting a kidney - whilst the 'less than pretty ones' remain 'on the shelf'?
Will it make donors try to make sure that recipients keep to a healthy lifestyle by stalking them?

Currently watching a prog about kidney donation.
I'm not sure if selecting the recipient is a good idea like you said.
Meeting them afterwards is another thing.
The prog is now on about people in Asia who are willingly selling their organs for a better life.
Personally, joking apart, I've got two, what happens if I donate one, then get kidney probs later in life.
I think I'll keep onto mine, if a family member needs one, I'm there for them though :)

I would like to think they would be at the bottom of the list having said that it would just cost us more to keep the low lifes on this earth

High profile recipients such as George Best who continue to abuse their body afterwards must set the cause back a long way

He was a sad case wasn't he! What a waste of a life!
