Thats just nonsense - I think sex offenders lose certain rights the minute they offend.
It's kids for goodness sake! We shouldn't be "risking" it on their behalf, they should be kept safe. End of.

In her article, Miss Reece suggested that the review should also introduce an assumption that sex offenders including child abusers posed no threat once they had served their sentence.

I'm sorry but what gives Paedo's a right to adopt? The reason they are branded with this name is because of the sexual abuse they give children, they shouldnt be allowed near them nor should they be allowed to adopt.
However: Those that were found innocent and had not done anything wrong and i mean were properly found to have done nothing should be given a chance, the thing is in this day and age we have to be careful who we let have children to adopt the kids are so vulnerable we cant let them in with a family that has a convicted sex pest/paedo in the house
Its a horrible state of affairs when the government and especially Miss I have no kids Reece are saying its all about huiman rights, they gave up those rights when they caused the offence......

Stark staring bonkers this is - once a paedo always a paedo. They DO NOT lose the urge to abuse children just because they have been caught and punished it is what they get off on - bloody pervs - and they convince themselves the children LIKE IT >:(
This idiot who condones this needs to do more homework and be made to work in a residential childrens home to open her eyes at what it does to children - not that ALL children in these homes have been abused in this way of course. It ruins lives.
Send her to live in a prison with men who are women rapists --- see how she likes it >:(

Ahhh you are getting to know me Fly ;) quite right it wasn't a personal go at you :) I type as I would speak only problem with that is you can't hear the laughter in my voice when I blame you ;D Get me into bother will that one day :) I would never type to offend anyone lifes too short as they say.
Quite right to about making us aware of this stupid person 's comments - always a heated thread to take part in.

I don't think statistically there's much in it. I do know that the District Of Columbia screws the figures depending on whether you treat it as a state or not and also I think there's a lot of significance in the fact that the states which mainly retain the death penalty are in the South. With their history of slavery and Black rights civil protest it would be interesting to see a correlation between the numbers of whites and those from ethnic minorities executed.
