Heres a link if anyone wants to download a poster for their door.
We always buy sweets for the children who come and hubby loves to put out a pumpkin to let them know they can knock.
Not everyone does though so ---- >: >: >: >; >; >;

I just bolt the front gates. If they try climbing the wall, the electric fence usually sorts the batsards out 8) C:-)

I think I'll just buy a big bag of sweets - and when they run out... :(

@ C.C I will be interested to hear from you in a few years time when your youngster is at school as this is what a lot of the children seem to do these days. Most round here go around with parents all in halloween fancy dress. Must admit we have never had or heard of any of the flour/egg soiling although I know it goes on. >;

I went through a phase of pretending we weren't in etc and we got "egged". But when my grandson started to go round (with his parents) on Halloween, I did rethink the situation.
As this was a relatively new occurence as opposed to an old English tradition like Penny for the Guy, I tended to look down on it - but the truth is that it's a bit of fun for the kids, so why not indulge them? :)

@ Pete, like you I wasn't for the Halloween but looking after the children made me re-think. You are quite right it is fun for the children, obviously though not for some especially the elderly and I used to put a poster in my mums window, also forbid the children to visit any bungalows or people who i knew were not well.

@ C.C. most of us will give into our own thoughts/feelings on this issue. Main thing is you recognise that eventually you may revert back to joining in. Nice one ;)
