Title: Child Benefit
Post by: Pete on October 26, 2012, 02:40:58 PM
I watched Question Time last night and found myself agreeing more with the Tory panelist than the Labour... Shock Horror! The issue was Child Benefit and restricting it to two kids only. I've long thought that it should be totally abolished - and this is a step in the right direction.

Obviously it needs to be timed right, but I just don't think it is viable any more in it's current form.

I think this is the story.

Agree with having a threshold except that (if a recall correctly) a wage earner on £50K doesn't get it but a man and wife on £45K each do

I'd give him 6 months in jail - but that would just cost us more...  :(

I'm not going to fall for the story, after all, it is the Sun.
But, If it is true, then someone wants their balls kicking up big style.
Me and Our_Lass, and many other members of this forum, work for x hours per week.
We are trying to earn a wage by actually doing work.
Some other members would love the opportunity to work, but are held back through no fault of their own !!
How does it make them feel when cretins like this can brag off a £30,000 free ride !!

Yes, it pi$$es me off too !!

Agree with you Cchris  :-X

At least me and Our_Lass can put our hands in the air and declare, we don't/can't, claim a penny in benefits.
It's actually a good feeling knowing we earn what we have. We work for it.

We also spend it at our leisure, usually on foreign holidays.
We might holiday twice next year, does this make us rich toffs ?
No, we've both stopped smoking and might have a few £££ spare for our own benefit.
