Some of you on my facebook knew but Mother in law had to have the cat put down yesterday.
He was 19 years young, had problems with his thyroid hadn't eaten in 3 days and had problems with his teeth. Although we initially didnt go to the vets to put him down when the vet nurse said it was an option we really thought about it and figured he would be better and without pain to be put down.
I can't thank that vet nurse for actually being rather understandable and adereing to what we wanted.
We both cried buckets and were with the cat until he passed away and im glad i was there to help support mother in law.
Laura took the news rahter well, and has accepted that Nana no longer has a puss...
Still so sad though :(

It's always sad when a pet dies, but 19 years is a good life for a cat.

Yes, very sad when you lose a beloved pet - it's been over a year since we lost Jaide and we still miss her like mad :'(

Oh I know its tough, Lost the family dog Gwen at 15 in 2001 ish, still miss her now and its 11 years since passing.
I just worry though as MIL lives on her own though not far from us but has always been used to having a cat around. She says no more but just can't help but worry
It was heartbreaking and i admit to crying again before settling to sleep last night mushy as i am

It is sad. My sister in laws cat died at the weekend. He was found curled up in the neighbours greenhouse in his sleeping position.
