Just had a phone call from the 'electricity board' saying how good a customer I am and I pay all my bills on time (I am with Scottish Power). With this in mind I qualify for an energy rating device that is plugged into a socket 24/7and will save me 45% off my bills. they will post it out to me - with all this in writing.
They knew my address and surname and just asked my first name and if I was a pensioner.
THEN - they asked me to confirm that I paid my bill by Direct Debit and which bank it was - at this stage I put the phone down!
At no stage did they ask who my energy supplier was.
Sounds like a scam, anyone else had a similar call?

We havent, but glad you brought it to our attention.
Sounds a bit dubious :-X

Hi
Having been in the electrical industry for the last 40 years I can tell you that no such devices exist, so I am certain it's a scam without doubt.
