Title: Life expectancy around world shows dramatic rise

"Men are living 11 years longer and women 12 years compared with 40 years ago, although health problems are also rising"

"Life expectancy around the world has risen dramatically, by 11 years for men and 12 years for women over the last four decades, but we are paying the price in more mental and physical health problems, according to the biggest-ever study of the global burden of disease."

I suppose one day we'll all be permanently poorly in our 80s and 90s - but will it stop the doctors filling us up with drugs so we can sit around staring at the world and all the things we could do when we were younger...

I think there should be a voluntary "opt-out" scheme available to all over 80, so when you've had enough, you can go with some dignity.
