Title: The Welfare Bill
Post by: Pete on January 09, 2013, 02:01:07 PM
A government of millionaires makes the poor poorer while trying to turn them against each other. And so a new generation learns to appreciate the passion behind Labour pin-up Nye Bevan's famed declaration in 1948 that the Tories are “lower than vermin”.

Only watched brief clips of yesterday's parliament (just a bit busy at the moment).

If they are not careful they will end up with streets riots ( it has been forwarned a few weeks ago).

They say they are giving more money to people who find work, looking after the vulnerable ( I know this isn't so) and pensioners look set to be next on their hit list - didn't they say they would leave them alone?

- fuel monies are a lifeline to some elderly, why don't they just take it from those that don't need it and put it straight into a pot to be shared out to those that are desperate for it. I suppose it will go into their pot though  :(
ANNNNDDD where's our Pepsiprefect as they are on about taking away the Gold card  :-?  :-? ( not sure if it's everyone or just pensioners though

As for the other two, just constant bickering and blaming. There all in it for the money !!

People are entitled to their views, its just when statements like "we're all in this together" get trotted out by the right, when it's a fact that the people on benefits are going to be worse off that I feel the need to correct.

The Tories know that their core voters won't give a fuck about the poor.

high earners are worse off

Yes but no. They're better off because they earn more. Respect, they might be more educated, hence better paid jobs.
If you're worse off under under the tories, why don't you vote Labour.
Could have been £45,000 better off according to 'your' figures ?

There's got to be more to this.
Just my penneth  :)

U deer labour the policy was for higher business taxes. Resulting in more wealth in our pockets but hardly any going into economic growth.

So you'd still be better off under labour. Just have less of a chance to expand, and be richer.
Yes, I appreciate what your saying. By expanding you are offering more chances to others for employment.
But is the idea working. Or is Cameron just going to keep blaming Labour ?
Recession, labours fault.

To be honest Mick, I don't follow the financial fortunes of Conservative politicians.

He's one of the most successful conservative politicians of the last 20 years Fly.

His trick? Pretend to be Labour until in power...

Its working for me, and the businesses that I see expanding organically (I.e using their own money to expand rather than borrowed money).

The idea is that in the long term I make myself wealthier by expanding than I would than just taking the money out year on year. Employing more people along the way is just a by product really.

Speculate to accumulate, without the massive borrowing.

This is what I was trying to say.  Work your ar5e off and then get screwed.  Why should you have to work all your life and then have to pay nearly £2k a month when the lady who sits next to mum pays feck all.

Looked after himself. Doesn't give jack sh1t about the rest of us.
Don't forget though, all the lackies followed him and made a quid or two, too.

@ CC will the company register to employ someone (maybe with a disability) or other, as the government will be looking for this when the universal credit comes into force.
Serious question.

Have I got it wrong - I thought you were speaking of a company?

Read my post again - 'I said disabilty or other'  'other'  meaning non disabled.

I agree no one group should be favoured - but to find all this extra work - the government will be seeking business's to employ/train or whatever, I really don't know how they are intending to roll this out.
I  only know I have read this is what they will do.
Just wondered :)
