Well, whaddya think - should we stay or should we go? You might not have a strong view at the moment, but if we have a referendum... q?

I don't think the average IQ UK citizen knows enough to vote. Me included :(
Here's one point to read.

Here's another I've just found. That's why I haven't posted about it before Pete did.

I'm sure Cameron knows what he's doing. Lining Tory pockets before he loses the next election. IMHO of course :P

It's far too serious an issue for Murdoch to decide

People only see or read stuff, then act like sheep.
I'm on a slightly higher level. I'm a member of this forum. These issues get spoke about.
At least I get to see other members views on the matters of concern.
I presume your comment was about what a news papers uptake of this story will be ;)

If, as I have read, it is to be a simple two option question, then I think we should stay in. But it appears Cameron is not giving us any space - a bit like his Scottish question.
@ CChris - doesn't matter what Milliband says - thats just party politics and I'm disappointed you started your reply with it.

I thought Fly was joking.

First person to take me serious on here wants their head looking at ;D
@Cchris, I don't do politics, economy etc.
My mining community background makes me hate tories. Other than that, I do read other people's posts.
I do try to see, and respect, other members views.
The hypocrisy is laughable sometimes.
One must also remember, me and Pete have our own personal views. We don't always agree. :-X

Not on here. :-X

Never really thought it a good idea back then, but don't know that much about it TBH, does seem restricting though at times.
As for Miliband - he does what all parties do and rubbish whatever is said or done by the party in power.
-
I think, for what its worth, that we should stay in purely on trading grounds with other members.
However, I disagree with brussels interference with practically everything else.
In other words how we govern our own country - law making, telling farmers what they can/can't do, unregulated immigration of eastern "europeans"(used to be Soviets).
It seems to me that the original idea of "the common market" was far less complicated than the present European Union set up, which seems to have far too much power to overrule what we, as a previously Empire driven country who imposed imperialism on others, are now having it imposed on ourselves.
In short, I think we should distance ourselves from the EU - whilst keeping trade agreements within the EU. Therefore our membership needs to be radically re-negotiated.
Just my humble opinion - I'm not really politically driven, but surely some of the burdens the EU place on us could be removed for our own benefit.

The problem is that whoever is in power will cherry pick the legislation.
For example you would assume that the Tories would want to pull us of things like the working time directive, which Labour would see as being sacrosanct.

many Reasons for staying and many against.
and what JR said.
