Take enough photos Fly and chances are you'll snap me and SWMBO on our walks into town!
-
I think the first two, afternoon shots, look better than the 3rd one, morning.
Are you usually around at those times :-)

POST DELETED AT USER'S REQUEST

Bit like my doctors probably then.
I'll be using the new one in town though for my taxi badge medical. They're a 3rd of the price of my doctors.
-
Is the health centre where the School used to be Fly?
Saw the building of new docs as i went past on the bus yesterday anyone know when its supposed to be finished?
-
Mostly Emma. It's mainly built where the clinic was. The car park is where the school was.
It's Dr Spencer's surgery that used to be next door to the clinic.
The old doctors building is now a nursery.
Today. Bit of a naff photo.

It's going to be a big building.

There's a hell of a lot of steelwork involved.
-
That's the floors in.
Corrugated steel plate, with thick gauge wire mesh on top, then concrete.
There's some brickwork starting at the back, one or two floors lower than road level.
-
Bit more brick work now. Starting to take shape.

New camera Flyboy?
-
Nope. All took from my mobile phone. Brighter weather makes for better photos :)
-
So, three cheers for the brighter weather - I was beginning to think the bloody snow would never go away...

My old school, and where I learned to swim in the 1960's. My mum and also mum in law went there too. I did my teaching qualification there back in 2002 and my daughter studied there as well. Very fond memories and associations with the place.

Some nice modern glass architecture in the middle of the build.

Finally opened. I haven't been able to park and take a shot or two. Will get a few shots when I can.
If you thought parking on Avondale Rd was bad, try getting in here LOL 8)
The entrance closest to Foljambe Rd is the way 'In', the one closest to Brockwell Lane is the 'Exit/No Entry'
-
Strange if you didn't know what the building was you might think it was a modern prison.
My OH is going to be working in there, they are renting some of the spare space out to 111
-
Every expense spared in that design - what were the architects thinking? "Let's make it all straight lines with a flat roof; that'll fit in perfectly with the surrounding buildings..."
It beggers belief that such poor design is considered acceptable in Chesterfield - the Casa Hotel is another example. Are the councillors on the planning committee blind?
-
Told you the car park wasn't big enough 8)
Haven't had the chance to take a couple of proper shots yet.

111 the New Non-Emergency Number for the NHS in Chesterfield
27th October 2011

111 is the new healthcare number to call, when you need medical help or advice but it isn't a 999 emergency.
This new service is being rolled out across the UK and is replacing the NHS Direct service. It has now been launched in the Chesterfield and Bolsover areas.
NHS 111 is a free call number from both landlines and mobile phones and is a fast, easy way to get the help you need...
◦Whatever you need
◦Wherever you are
◦Whatever the time.
You should call 111 when:
◦It is not a 999 emergency
◦You think you need to go to A & E
◦You cannot wait for an appointment at your Doctor's
◦You do not know who to call for medical help.
When you call NHS 111 your condition will be assessed immediately and you will not need to be called back. If further help is deemed necessary then you will be passed straight through to the relevant service.

It looks a bit of a mish mash Fly
-
I actually like it. It's just too big for the parking area.
Think the right side is the doctors/pharmacy bit.
Left side is rent-able office space. I may be wrong.
Just for the record, 111 is the new NHS Direct. 0845 46 47
Another waste of space, money, and time. IMHO
Just glad it employs people :-X
Not a dig at your missus JR. A job is a job nowadays :-X
-
The lady looking out of the pharmacy window is huge!!
-
I would have prefered it all in one material I think. To me it looks as if they have been given sections of materials from other counties to build it - still not an architect.
Bit like the police man in some shop windows/doors - they make me jump Stuart
-
>> The lady looking out of the pharmacy window is huge!!
Ya know, ever since Fly Got Photoshop... :-?
;)
-
The lady looking out of the pharmacy window is huge!!
She's either got short legs or is kneeling down ;D :-X ::)
Ok, I'm going . . . . .
-
Had a good look around the place today and I wasn't overly impressed. I like the overall shape of the building, but I'm not sure about the four different finishes, red brick, glass, natural stone and what ever it uses on the top floor
-
Looks like they've raided the left over parts bin!!
-
There is a problem though with siting the building there......................lorries tend to park on Ashgate Road to do their deliveries, which causes tailbacks due to vehicles not being able to get between the lorries and the queue of vehicles waiting at the Foljambe Rd traffic lights (going towards town) >:(
