Hope it didn't give you the trots!

We had a lasagne the other night. I never gave it a second thought till now, Our_Lass just told me it was a Findus.
She'd picked it up a few week ago and put it in the freezer. It was on offer at a £1.
And I'm not joking ;D

Luckily we dont buy ready made lasagne i make my own, The companies must know more than they are letting on? ist the fact that somewhere along the lines someone is lying about what the meat is that is more wrong than the actual meat itself
-
Last year for hubbies birthday the girls came with families and I did burgers and hot dogs for a change - it went down very well.
Won't be bothering this year, I could make my own burgers but don't trust the sausage now ;D
-
Im so hungry I could eat a Lasagne
-
It would be more of a scandal if found in veggie food. Morally there isn't much difference between eating any meat (though I'm not a veggie, should be)

Abbatoir in West Yorkshire found to be supplying horse meat to a firm in Wales!

Nice one Flyboy - another example of the unacceptable face of capitalism, do anything if it makes money and to hell with the consequences.
-
Isnt a simple solution to this, just to print a load of sticks saying 'may contain horse meat' and sticking them on the packaging?
That way we wont be throwing away a load of food which is still fit for human consumption.

Horsemeat scandal: 'government warned two years ago'
The beleaguered minister at the centre of the horsemeat scandal, Owen Paterson, has asked the Food Standards Agency to investigate claims that the government was warned potentially harmful horsemeat could enter the food chain two years ago.
The environment secretary ordered the investigation after it was reported the government was warned in 2011 that horsemeat with possible drug residue was getting into food and that the situation could blow up into a scandal.
Curiouser and curiouser...

An alternative to horse burgers?
BTW - an image on the news last night showed some Birds Eye products that were under suspicion..................one of the items was Shepherds Pie - surely that's a lamb based product.?
