The market however is sadly dying. Market forces will no doubt have a final say in their survival, as will the initiative of market stall holders and the public. I used to think there was no place in a forward thinking, progressive town, like I believe Chesterfield is. I was wrong!
Now you get my drift. Why is the council spending millions on regeneration.
Just spend a few ?100.00 and get the town, not city, council ,to look after it's traders ?

If some of the larger stores can be attracted there's a theory that it will have a knock-on effect of boosting the town centre and tempting people away from Meadowhall etc.
Parking space could be a problem, I would hope some is incorporated into the Northern gateway.
