Title: Bedroom Tax rules examined
Post by: Old Cruser on February 22, 2013, 10:05:41 AM
Looks like we 'may' see some slight changes to this bedroom tax situation - but not holding my breath. I would hope that at the very least they would cut the % which is set at 14% and 25% and for ALL not just disabled.

Two people sharing a 2 bedroom property could be partners or could be just housemates. Who has to prove this?

Just come across this article, mainly to do with foster carers and parents with adult children in the forces.
It does have a few references to other people too, disabled or long term sick etc.

Yes I have read that as well fly. Short enough of Foster Carers in the UK as it is - and this is losing more!!
I am pleased they have made the forces exempt as well.
Hopefully this will help.
Not sure what they class as major adaptations though.
They are just railroading through it without too much thought  >:(

As a ps -  I believe there are marches organised for this Friday in some of  the UK cities in protest of the bedroom tax

Look at this ---- little wonder no one knows what's going to happen with this bedroom tax--- seems the government can't make the flipping mins up.
seems that some foster carers may well still be paying it!

How stupid is that - having to apply every six weeks for discretionary housing fund ---- many will walk!

How about calling your spare bedroom a prayer room used for religious affairs :-)

:) Nice try pint pot but that won't work any more than the 'it's a  box room' because of the size - 70 square feet that's been tried  ;)
