If I were the accused and not guilty, I would sooner have a jury trial here than any other sort of trial in any other country on Earth. In this case it seems to come down to two possibles - either she suffered a powerful amount of marital coercion that rendered her helplessly incapable of exercising her own judgement, or she rather liked the idea of being married to an MP on an MP's salary and expenses. As much as I think Huhne is a shit of the highest order, I also think the "marital coercion" defence is laughable, in the case of this clearly independently-minded woman.

Tricky one, some fraud trials must be too complicated for the lay person.
Others such as Huhne's ex have had so much media coverage it must be difficult not to be influences.
