Title: Hot Air Balloon comes down in Egypt
Post by: Old Cruser on February 26, 2013, 10:12:06 AM
Terrbile accident this, it's killed 19 of the 21 passengers. Must admit I am too scared to go up in one although hubby did a few  years ago when we clubbed together for a birthday gift for him. he said it was a fantastic experience - not for me though.

Very sad.

1000ft fall and if that didnt kill them, falling into sugar cane would have.  That stuff is sharp.

More news stories about this are out now. I wondered how 2 people jumped out and survived.
They were barely off the floor when a gas tank exploded and sent them rapidly to about 1000ft.
Awful tragedy  :(

We were wondering if the passengers on it had taken out a 'dangerous activity insurance, if they haven't some one will have bill to pay and it won't be cheap

I've read several articles about compensation. Some say the families of all involved will receive around £50,000 each

It won't matter too much about being insured then
