Really don't know what we are coming too in the UK.
Can't this person be made to stand down?
Terrible terrible comments he has made about disabled children I don't understand how he can have survived this long as a councillor
I'm sure one of you will know the ins and outs of this issue

He can't be made to stand down for bad taste remarks, only for criminal offences or non- attendance at meetings. Added problem is that being Independent he isn't answerable to a party leader who could hide him away from committee positions.
Similarly, at a picket line protest against county council cuts I witnessed the councillor with with responsibility for Adult Services say the budget / pensions problems were caused by people living too long! Sadly he was heckled and used this excuse to make his escape instead of digging himself deeper into a hole.

Thanks Slacker for answering my Q -

Just read this thread OC and have to agree there should be some sort of way of getting this monster out.
Having said that I would imagine he will get a rough ride at the next local election.
Unbelievable...

Disgraceful !!

I believe he has resigned

Looks like something he said over a year ago has come back to bite him.
Collin Brewer, a Cornwall councillor, made the comment to a charity worker in 2011, saying disabled children cost the authority too much money.
