Post by: Slacker on March 15, 2013, 07:57:16 PM: More than 11,000 local people have joined Derbyshire Big Deals, our energy switching scheme – and the numbers are still growing.

It’s a fantastic result that could save Derbyshire people collectively up to £1million on their gas and electricity bills.

I’d like to say a big thank you to the hundreds of you who have really got behind Derbyshire Big Deals – it’s been a big team effort.

All our libraries and Call Derbyshire have been helping people sign up. Schools and children’s centres have been spreading the word to parents and carers. And many more of you have helped by telling our service users and family and friends about Big Deals.

If you’ve already joined, thank you. You’ll find out at the end of March how much you could save and then you decide whether to switch.

If you haven’t joined Big Deals yet – there’s still time. It’s the last weekend to find a gas or electricity bill and register at www.derbyshire.gov.uk/bigdeals (http://www.derbyshire.gov.uk/bigdeals) Please pass this link on to family and friends too.

Big Deals closes at 6pm on Wednesday 20 March.

The use of I'd and Our could have led the un-initiated to believe that this was original thought from yourself (yeah as if). But when questioned you don't know the answers to fundamental questions. It's typical of most of your postings on here and on Facebook. It's also typical of most of the out pourings from politicians. All sound bites aimed at scoring political points but no substance.

I think I posted the link a while back, this is a final reminder of the approaching deadline. Power companies will not worry about a handful of disgruntled customers threatening to leave but a potential mass exodus should prompt them to think about offering the best available deals.

I got an email from DCC yesterday saying they were delayed and they would be back in touch towards the end of April.

Actually I'd probably be more likely to go with SSE as a result of yesterday. I wouldn't think they would want to end up back in front of the regulator again for mis-selling
