Call the police and they sue YOU…
"WPC Kelly Jones, 33, tripped on 6in kerb while checking station in Thetford - owner had called 999 after alarm went off."
I don't know what to make of this, a policeman privately suing someone because she tripped on a kerb and hurt herself?
They don't make coppers like they used to. (http://www.ichesterfield.co.uk/images/no.gif)

Street light bang over the road, I see. If she can't make out a kerb in that, her ability to present any night-time observation evidence in future would perhaps be compromised.

apparently it was in the dark and she didnt have a torch.
Whos fault is that?

A policeman without a torch at night? If I was the garage owner I would counter-sue for dereliction of duty... :P

We have enough on with Joe Bloggs out for compensation. recent bad weather meant that anyone who cleared the pavement infront of their property stood a chance of being sued.
Now the police are at it.
Looking at the photo in the link - she walks around with her eyes closed!!
So what does she expect - silly woman

That's an urban myth OC - probably used by some people as an excuse not to get their shovel out.

Initiated by the Police Federation I believe. I can't see it doing them any favours. It does make you think twice about calling out the police without carrying out a risk assessment in case one of the little lambs should hurt themselves.
