Title: Favourite Place to go in Derbyshire
Post by: Old Cruser on April 10, 2013, 08:33:07 PM
We can hopefully all fluff up our feathers folks and dare I say it put the snow behind us for a few months.
Time to get out and about walking or for a drive etc.
We enjoy walking on the moors above Chatsworth and maybe a trip down into Bakewell.
Anyone else got a special favourite place they like to share with us?

My fave place is Padley Gorge. Great for picnics or a walk up and down the gorge for exercise - incredible trees, rocks, etc - magical!

Also, great place for kids to build dams...

I used to drive for hulleys and my favorite places were monsal head, used to love driving down into the valley, and Youlgreave/youlgrave (even the locals cant decide on the spelling and road signs use three or four variations) theres a lovely walk in youlgreave by the side of the river that continues up to middleton by youlgrave and past some old sheep dips, then come out onto the road and walk back down to youlgreave and the George hotel do lovely takeaway chips and a pint. (Not while driving a bus obviously)
