I have found this link for a Civil War Enactment on May 26/27 Holembrook Valley Park - it says it's 'free'

I will be at home , not going out because it is quite difficult to be an immigrant in this country right now

Not my sort of thing normally, but I might go and have a look - must be impressive with so many "on the field".

I'm sure we don't lump all immigrants in with what happened yesterday Espana - you are welcome on the forum I am sure x

This Bank Holiday, I shall be mostly attending a steering wheel for passenger transport purposes just because I'm so dedicated to my illustrious employers.

So, did anyone else go to the re-enactment?  Basically, it was a massive "fate" between troops from Chesterfield (the Parliamentarians) and Bolsover (the Royalists).   After much drumming, marching, clashing of pikes, musket and canon firing and horses galloping, I'm sorry to say, Fly, that B'oser came second ;)

I thought that it was superbly presented.  On a personal level, the only downside was that I was challenged by an enforcement officer in the village camp for two offences .... firstly wearing men's clothing (trousers) and secondly for not wearing a hat.  I now have to appear before the magistrate tomorrow morning where my punishment will most probably be the Ducking Stool ....  well I think that's what he said.   :)

Sounds like good hearty fun Aitch, we have had two of the girls over today so been sat in the garden all day.
I will see if we can get over tomorrow when I'm working - it may be something different to watch - especially Aitch on the ducking stool!!  8)

Had a run to the Holmebrook Valley Park. Very interesting although my young companion wasn't amused when she was pointed at and accused of  making some kind of magic and being a witch   :)) - (had the face painted as a dog  :)))
We all enjoyed it I think it was a first so maybe they will build on it and add maybe more charity stalls etc.
Not sure about the parking though as cars were lining the road, as my daughter had a sudden change of plans for her day she came along and we were allowed through the barriers to park in the car park displaying her blue badge.

We ended up at the carboot at Twin Oaks. :)
Didn't know they now park over the road at the bottom of Rylah Hill   :-X
Not good with my current bad back  ::)

Just general sciatica back ache. Comes and goes. Sometimes months in between bouts.
I carried some rather large shopping bags for a customer Friday afternoon. Ought to have made 2 journeys.
Woke up Saturday with that annoying, random stab in the back, if I move too quick, fart, cough, or god forbid sneeze  :))
