Title: Activities for the children this summer
Post by: Old Cruser on May 29, 2013, 05:20:13 PM
That's if we get a summer that is!
As I have received this link I thought it maybe a good idea for anyone to add things for the children/families to do (even decent parks to visit) during the summer - the 6 weeks break especially is a long one.
So here's the link and I hope others may add to it over the coming weeks

We used to make our own fun. Suppose difference is we would disappear breakfast to tea and parents weren't worried

We went to it last year then changed our minds when we got to it cos it was £3 each to get in  :-X
Sure there's a post or comment about it on here.

HELP MODS - Have been faffing with this flyer for ages and can't get it any larger, any chance you can assist.
Plus why is it I can't upload my photo's etc from my documents - advice please if you can. (  :-* )

Anyway just thought this might be a good idea for people who like animals etc - hopefully the clever clogs will enlarge it for me (  :-* )

Below are dates for activities for the children in August who I suppose are starting to get a bit bored by now

Youngsters in Grassmoor have been enjoying a summer of fun, which is set to continue until the end of the school holidays.

The activities, organised by Rykneld Homes, Sporting Futures and supported by the local Safer Neighbourhood policing team have included sessions in OzBox, sports, cheerleading, street dance and Extreme Wheels.

Workshops on improving your health, finding work and money management have also taken place for older teenagers and adults.

Sessions are continuing throughout the rest of the school holidays, finishing with a big local fun day at Grassmoor Primary School fields on Saturday, August 31.

PCSO James Land of the Holmewood, Grassmoor, Calow and Arkwright Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “The summer of fun is giving young people in Grassmoor a chance to spend their free time learning new skills, taking part in new activities or simply enjoying their holidays.

“They also create a fantastic community spirit, and if you haven’t yet taken part then please come along and get involved.

For further information about the Grassmoor Summer of Fun contact Jessica Blanksby on 01246 217670, email jessica.blanksby@rykneldhomes.org.uk or Kevin Hatton on 07920708307, email kevin@sporting-futures.org.uk.
