Title: MP Patrick Mercer resigns Tory Party whip over lobbying scandal

Bear with me on this one.  Apparently 4 of the MP's who backed his lobby were Labour ?

His early day motion was signed by 3 labour and 1 lib dem. May yet be more to come out?

Can someone explain what the term 'whip' means in politics please

Sounds like you may well get that 'scandal' Pete, they are dragging a few more in now
