Title: Julia Cambridge
Post by: Gerty Gumdrop on August 15, 2013, 07:08:15 AM
I had a leaflet through my door yesterday proclaiming Julia Cambridge to be the Chesterfield Lib Dem campaigner.

Someone must have heard of her, but I'm afraid I haven't.  anyone?

Yep, I've heard of her. She was at the SOLC meeting a few weeks ago.

She has blocked me from following her on twitter. Only wants yes men and groupies.

Bizarrely, that was my gut instinct.  The older I get, the more it seems to be accurate.

So I am wondering how come she's risen through the ranks at what appears to be some meteoric pace and suddenly become the face of everything Lib Dem in this area.  Who, and what was she this time last year?

She's from Nottingham, but of course I won't mention that all the LibDem leaflets in 2003 & 2007 were full of attacks on Labour not having a candidate that could trace their Chesterfield roots back for several generations.

So, is the chap behind the worthy SOLC thing a Lib-Dem, too, or has that party just thrown their weight behind a potential vote-winner worthy local campaign? There is a lot of merit, for me, in the campaign, but the sight of gurning politicians (of any shade) queuing up to be associated with such things rather pushes me to the other point of view, nowadays.

When I saw her at the SOLC meeting she was in anti Labour rather than anti council mode. I'm afraid she didn't impress me with her condescending attitude. But then, since Clegg sold his party down the river i don't have any time for the LibDems, which is a shame.
