'kin 'ell - you couldn't make this up...
"Andrea Smith wept in the dock as she was sentenced for illegally claiming £88,000 over a nine-year period.
The mum-of-three narrowly escaped prison – but she has been ordered to repay the money and do 150 hours’ work.
Smith, 40, of New Bolsover, wrongly claimed the “staggering” sum as a lone parent when in fact her employed husband had been living with her at her address, Derby Crown Court heard on Tuesday.

Hubby works for stagecoach ;)
I used to be a drinking/golf/bowls buddy of her late father. RIP John, you were a great man ;)

Just read some of the comments on facebook about this story >:( OMG
Yes I agree it would appear she got off quite lightly for the offence,
there's also next to no way she will or can pay back the 88 grand.
I can understand people making comments on this.
eg. Sooner she did the 6 months as part of the 88 grand spent she owes.
As regards calling her a scrounger:
1. To obtain (something) by begging or borrowing with no intention of reparation:
I think she certainly did that.
Having a pick at her personal appearance or looks is not good. There really have been some vile comments made.
I know her. She's never Been Kate Moss, but then I've never been Peter Andre MD
-
Question is, does she know, or even care, about the misery that her crime has indirectly inflicted on innocent folks?
It is as a result of people like her cheating the benefit system that has caused the Conservatives to declare war on all benefit cheats, resulting in many innocent people with genuine problems to feel the full force of hatred that Cameron and his rich pals have for the working class and poor people.
Be honest, she's been caught bang to rights stealing the best part of ninety grand of the taxpayers money.

I totally agree Pete. She and her husband knew what was going on and were happy doing it.
-
No I doubt she woud be ably to pay the money back.
She should be made to work full time for her benefits with deductions each month for what she owes.
Then a slice of her pension when she reaches the age
If her husband knew then he also should be made to hellp pay the money back as he will have had at least some benefit from it
-
So now the husband will probably leave work due to stress related problems.
The family will now live and claim more benefits. His wife's shame has made his life untenabale.
His doctor signs him off sick.
Tax payer still paying for what they've done. I never said I condoned that. Just the personal comments. ;)

Sorry Scimitar, (And Stagecoach).
I based that post on the fact, the last time I saw him, he had a Stagecoach jacket on. ;)
