Gas prices to rise 8% bringing total gas price rises under the Tories to 49%.
Britain's biggest energy giant British Gas is planning to hit millions of customers with price increases of £100 or up to 8 per cent, taking household energy bills to record levels just as temperatures begin to fall.
British Gas owner Centrica in May promised that it would hold prices at the same levels for longer after making excess profits last winter when freezing weather sparked an 18 per cent rise in the amount of energy used by households.

Robbing gits.
How can they justify it!
We will have to look around for another company I am thinking, having already tried another company which was a total mess we went back to B.G.
Since having a combi boiler installed not only is the house much colder (and it's always been a warm one) but out bill last year was over £400.00 for the last winter bill.
Any recommendations folks?

Privatisation = competition 😀😀😀

And yet interestingly according to the BBC tonight we have the lowest gas and 3rd lowest electricity prices out of 15 eu countries. Maybe things would be worse without competition ?

I heard they bought gas about a year in advance, so by that they know how much it costs. Yet we still get massive price hikes.
I don't object to companies making profit, that what they go into business for, what I object to is the rises and then announcing obscene profits.
