I like it.  :)

If it was left to the mardarses that commented on that thread it would be a dreary world that we live in.

No imagination.

No style.

You need eyes in your aris on that roundabout.
Yes, it might be a nice piece of art, just wrong place. IMHO  :(

I don't know what all the fuss is about, I have never felt threatened by any roundabout. I think people who are nervous about roundabouts should get some driving lessons.

Folks used to rattle on about the one at the beginning of the Dronfield by-pass, it's never bothered me.

Just something else for halfwit drivers to gawp at on a roundabout not fit for purpose.

That's me off the road then!
I can get round it ok - it's the others I don't trust

When I said, "I think people who are nervous about roundabouts should get some driving lessons." it was not a pop at anyone. But maybe some folks, like me, passed their test in the 50s and 60s could use a few lessons to polish up their skills and get their confidence up.

Wise words, as also told to me when I was learning by my father. He taught me to read the road ahead and to treat every other motorist as a potential idiot... ;) :)

Exactly my point, it's a game of wits getting round it. Anticipation is the only way to try and avoid being hit. Too many idiots who can't drive properly, don't know how to change lanes or indecate correctly.
We will always have those on the roads
returning back from town along Derby road this morning, sirens blaring I could see the blue lights heading my way in my mirror. I indicated and pulled over - white van man going opposite direction into town carried on travelling - police car had to stop at the back of me DERRR.

It's 1000% better than it was before they fitted the lights. The only problem I come across (on a regular basis) are the muppets in the outside lane of the Hasland by pass who think they can cut across everyone to head up Lordsmill street. Number of times Ive had to slam the anchors on when heading for work is at a conservative estimate in the teens.

Twice in one day the same car nearly got me as I drove up to Brim. First time it was in the lane heading to our depot and suddenly switched to the one for Tapton, then it was in the Sainsbury lane & decided to carry on across the roundabout. I gave warning  blast of the horn but felt a little guilty when they turned into the crem (though if they carry on driving like that they might as well book a spot)

True, but equally idiotic drivers who don't seem to think the information written on the road surface has any relevance to them

I'd agree up to a point but if I'm coming up to a roundabout am I a) looking down at the road surface or at other road users and b) do I necessarily know the number of the road I want compared to actually being told where it's going.
Case in point. I once witnessed a rta on the horns bridge roundabout. I rang 999. When asked the location of the accident I said horns bridge. What I didn't know of course was that the person answering the call wasn't in chesterfield and didn't know where that was. So I told him it was where Derby road hasland bypass and the inner relief road met. Guess what? The 999 operator didn't have a clue where that was either!! Did I mean the A617 A619 etc etc? How the #### do I know??? In the end a traffic car arrived and I hung up
