Title: What conclusion to draw?
Post by: therealjr on November 05, 2013, 05:22:33 PM
If you are having a debate with a politician about something his/her leader has stated and eventually that politician refuses to offer explanation for that statement what conclusions should one draw?

That the politician didn't actually know what the leader meant ?

Off the top of my head...

Maybe politicians don't know what the left hand or right hand is doing.

I'm running out of interest in politicians/politics...

For example, our LibDem candidate came on here many months ago and indicated to Fly that she wanted to interact with locals and that she would answer any questions.

So I asked her about HS2 - she didn't reply.

Later I asked if she wanted to be our MP - she didn't reply.

Also Toby Perkins was on video recently talking about the Chesterfield Marathon in 2014 - when asked what impact it would have on Chesterfield, he replied, "It’s a great sporting town - fantastic facilities…"

Interesting comment in light of the Labour council's intention to build on the Queens Park Annex running track...

I know people who road-run or cross country run, don't know anyone who's interested in track running. The athletics club long since relocated. No demand for a track (how many noticed / protested when it stopped being used?)

The track was well used but was allowed to fall into disrepair because the track surface was an old shale surface and was continually waterlogged. A proper track surface should have been installed. The chesterfield athletic club was very successful a few years ago

Quite a few athletic types running the oval around the Proact Stadium car park last Monday at about 6.30pm. No reason to think it was their first and only time. I suppose the football club could mark lanes on that.
