Looks like we may all be digging a bit deeper in our pockets

Gotta love this:

Current guidance for councils sets a limit on council tax increases of 2%. A referendum is required for increases above 2%. There has been a delay by Government in confirming this limit, which in previous years was done before Christmas. If there is a change in the guidance we may need to reconsider our position.

Hence the rise of 1.99% to avoid a referendum. I suppose we should thank them...

Could be worse. 1.999%
That's another 10p on a £1200 bill  :))
1.99% £23.88
1.999% £23.98
Times the 10p by the number of houses in Derbyshire and . . . . . .
