Title: Car Parking in Chesterfield
Post by: Old Cruser on January 23, 2014, 03:13:15 PM
We are to be charge an extra 10 pence an hour in Chesterfield to park.
It's not very encouraging for people to visit Chesterfield for a days shopping.
I doubt this will go down very well.

Town Centre £1.30 an hour

£1 all day on Ashgate Rd, just past the new doctors place on Goldwell hill.
Not that this will be a lot of use to people with disabilities.
We would use it when we come into town shopping. TBH though, sooner pay £1.60 for upto 2hr and park in Beetwell St Multi Storey.
2 hours walking round town is enough for us  >:

Not much comfort for you outsiders but there's quite a bit of free parking at off peak times for Chesterfield residents

Whoopee, free parking. Only person that blatantly uses a pass I know doesn't even live in the borough.
See my other post for my rant at the current council  :-X

Cheap compared with Sheffield, cheap compared with villages in the Lake District, expensive compared with Shirebrook. Prices throughout the country tend to reflect what's there.

That must be why it's free in NE Derbyshire  :)) :)) :))

What major town centres does it have? Dronfield is probably the biggest but hat is split into small precincts and Clay Cross's biggest car park is Tesco
