A Tory councillor has been caught checking his share prices in a council meeting about cuts.
While members discussed issues such as cuts to mental health services and council enforcement officers, Cllr Palmer seemed to be more interested in the performance of the following stocks:
• Land Securities Group Plc
• Sage Group Plc
• Avanti Communications Group Plc
• Samsung Electronics Co Ltd
• Unilever Plc
All done in sight of the public gallery - photos on the link.

How can someone with such a lack of interest do a good job.
They need to get rid of him, he can spend all day checking his shares then

Here's another (courtesy of Private Eye) - it's interesting where our politicians come from:

Just read about a chap who had a heart attack during an interview to see if he was fit to work. They stopped his money...

Ridiculous !!

Nothing changes does it!
Around the UK there are rumblings about the Syrian Refugees we are to take, some of whom are disabled/sick.
Ok commendable by the government you may say.
Yes say the disabled it is as long as they are treated like we are!
But - they won't be will they as they will be high profile and of course Cameroon and cronies will look good
We wil see!

Well, I must disagree with that one. The government have agreed to take 500 refugees out of the many, many millions - these from the most vulnerable.
I may moan and snipe at the government on a daily basis, but none of us, none at all, have been ever been as badly treated as those folks - murder, rape, torture, etc - we can't even imagine.
Germany are accepting thousands and the USA have no limit on how many they will take.
This is a major human catastrophy on a massive scale - we mustn't turn our backs on these people.

I haven't read any comments disagreeing with the refugees coming here.
More on the lines of once here and setted their benefits should be the same as disabled UK citizens.
