Just seen posts on Facebook from Sean Goldsmith and Becky Measures. They are moving to VikingFM in Hull.
Becky will be making the official announcement just after 8.00am in the morning.
Like I said, wind up or not ?
-
Wouldn't like to guess Fly. I don't tune in to it. Classic FM is my favourite
-
Today has just got worse and worse for me.
Must admit I've been a Sean and Becky fan for years.
I can also say I've raised a few good few quid for local charities with them via the forum.
-
whats up x
-
Started a new on topic thread OC of my ongoing issues..
-
Seems like it's true, they weren't on the breakfast show this morning. :'(
-
What's brought this on then they seem to have been on there a long time
-
So Peak FM spit their dummies out.
Where are Becky and Sean actually from, just thinking of the commuting or would they move to Hull?
-
I messaged Sean on Facebook.
This is the whole truth
We go back a long time.
Hi Barry.
Viking FM came in for us. Offered us a great contract that Peak couldn't ever match. We handed our notice in on Wednesday hoping we'd get a bit of time to say bye etc but they took the decision to take us straight off. I was then told I wasn't allowed in to say bye only Becky.

Think Becky is from Brampton area and Sean from Doe Lea.
-
At present yes Alsation. Becky was living in Walton, lost the licence for the Royal Oak?
And Sean living in, der, like I can remember .

I think the way the station has handled this will plummet their popularity stakes, for a while at least. I have to admit Sean and Becky drove me potty but I know they are well liked presenters with other people.
I only listen in the car these days and actually like Radio Sheffield now. ;D
-
Even over this weekend PeakFM has sounded a bit boring. TBH
New DJ's asking us to follow the station on Twitter or Facebook.
Der, half of Chesterfield probably already are pillocks.
-
I suppose it will take time for new presenters to get themselves established. Though after 12 years, Sean and Becky will be a hard act to follow (for some).
I shouldn't really have an opinion on it being as I mostly listen to Radio Sheffield. I'm also enjoying some of the discussions and the plays on Radio 4 too. In fact one was so good recently that I ended up sitting in Morrisons car park so I could hear the end of it. The shopping had to wait!
::)

I listen to BBC Radio Derby on my school run to Derby. Its all the stereo will pick up out that way. Some interesting stuff and interviews at times. Lots of older tunes played too.
-
It's great to listen to a cross section of radio rather than just sticking with one station. Since I've broadened my scope I found I've been missing out on such a lot. I even enjoyed Desert Island Discs recently. I must be growing up at last!
I'll always enjoy Planet Rock though 8)

My favourite.
I bought one of those gadgets for the car a few years ago that picked up DAB and sent it through the analogue radio but it kept losing signal so I sent it back. assume there are more digital transmitters now.
Meanwhile I only listen to planet rock via internet to my phone
-
Classical in the car.
Gold at home
I suppose we couldn't tune in to the station where they have gone to - not that I would want to anyway
-
Not a breaking news story, but Becky is not going to Viking FM with Sean.
Not heard where or what she is going or doing in the future.
On a personal level, good look with what ever you do Becky ;)
Nice to have have had contact with you these past years.
-
Not impressed with their replacements, not listened much but, she seems to do a Cheryl Cole impression at the drop of a hat, and they both seem to be incapable of producing a sentence without saying 'like' somewhere in it!!
-
Becky is back on the breakfast show C:-) 8)
Love her or hate her, all the best Becky ;)
-
What's going off?
That was a short resignation
-
Have messaged Becky, not sure if she will be as open as Sean about things. Will post basics of things if she replies to me :)
-
Had a chat with Becky :)
Here's a couple of snippets she told be, bless her. I can't fault her really.
Peak wanted me back and I wanted to go back
The ambition side of me saw the opportunity but the mum in me and my genuine love for round here, I needed to stay
I can continue to raise awareness of good causes, I didn't feel I could do that in hull
Bless ya bazza!!
And thank you, please delete any nasty comments lol xxx
There weren't any nasty comments, thank you Becky :)
I appreciate your honesty and sincerity.
-
fair enough, It did seem a very sudden quick change and I can understand the mum in her, I wouldnt want to heave my family and go jst like that.
-
Just gave it more thought and changed her mind - a ladies perogitive
-
Is she being partnered by anyone, or just going it alone with the show? :)
