We we're put on a speed reading course at college - and I can say it was a disaster.
It may be good for learning stuff fast, but I found it took all the subtlety out of the writing and reduced great books/stories to a sort of information gathering.
No point in reading Shakespeare after a speed reading course.

Here's my response to the post on Facebook.
I think it would dry your eyes, lack of normal movement in the long term.
If you aren't moving your eyes, that's got to be bad for them :-X

Wouldn't want to read a novel like that but it could have potential for a set of papers relating to a meeting
