Was reading an article about the missing Malaysian Boeing 777 and came across this piece about the general safety record of the Boeing 777 type of aircraft.
Its safety record is impressive – the first fatal crash in its 19-year history only came in July 2013, when an Asiana Airlines jet landed short of the runway in San Francisco. Three of the 307 people aboard died, one of whom was hit by an emergency truck after surviving the crash.

Just goes to show that when our time is up - we go one way or another.
They were looking at two passengers who who on the aircraft with false passports - as in stolen yesterday.
I think this morning it has been said that there is tracking of the aircraft actually turning round to go back?
A lot of activity out on the high seas looking for signs of wreckage.
Will they ever find it though?

It's very possible that it was seen ditching by the crew of one or more fishing boats in the area. Apparently the sea is relatively shallow there and hundreds of boats go fishing every night though they don't have radios so won't been able to report any sightings until they return to their villages.
