I've purchased new laptop today and needed Microsoft Office software.
I had decided on the Home and Student at £69.99 asking if it had publisher on I was shown a business version with it on for around £349.00.
Bloody hell I blurted they can shove that!
It's probably not used as much here as it used to be but I won't pay that rip off price if it was!!
-
To be honest Pam, I even begrudge paying £69.99 for any Microshite software.
-
Me too - it's maddening >:(
-
Sorted ;D
-
Pay for it? Whats that mean? :P
-
@ Simon - welll maybe not me exactly ;)
Anyway moving swiftly on -
me eads now as big as a bucket cos I've done the initial setting up and as well as my adminitrator account I have put 3 family safety accounts in for the children ( puffing up of ones chest now in progress ) ;D
Now got to plug in external drive and look at that - thinking at this point I may need to phone IT support BUT will have a go first. ;)
-
Am getting there without calling IT - yet!
I put the Microsoft disc in and installed it no problems, only after, I couldn't find where it was in the PC ;D. :( The lay out is different to old PC.
Gave up in the end but the following day had another go and found it phew :)
Have also put some photographs on a disc - the other PC wouldn't let me do it probably because its a bit old and out of date.
Still need to have a go at the PC to TV disc though so will check out Fly's advice.
I have to put in the Microsoft Publisher ( fingers crossed ;) ) yet and link the scanner/printer up :-?
Doubt if I will manage it without IT - will see. :)

Just the printer left but having probs so a call to I T tomorrow.
I had an email from the family safety accounts I set up. looks like I get a weekly breakdown of what each account user has been viewing. Good idea ;)

Here are some alternatives to MS Office that won't break the bank, they are free I think :)

All done up and running :)
I did have to call I.T support as the disc for printer/scanner wouldn't load in. They downloaded from Net , something to do with new PC (8.1) and old scanner/printer.
Sorted :)
